Invited by Professor Maurizio Carrino, director of the UOC of Andrology at the Cardarelli Hospital in Naples, Dr. Antonini performed a live penile prosthesis implantation surgery using the infrapubic technique in front of an audience of industry experts.
The patient, a 50-year-old man suffering from diabetes, underwent the procedure with aesthetic and functional results judged to be excellent. The operation was also distinguished by its speed of execution: the implant was completed in approximately 15-20 minutes, a particularly short time that represents a crucial factor in this type of surgery. Reducing operative times can significantly help limit the risk of complications, including infections.
Already on the first post-operative day, the patient showed excellent clinical conditions and was able to familiarize himself with the prosthetic device, confirming the smooth and regular course of the procedure.
