Cartagena de Indias hosted the LX Urology Congress, organized by the Colombian Society of Urology in collaboration with the European Association of Urology (EAU) and the American Urological Association (AUA). The event served as one of the most significant international meetings dedicated to the latest scientific and clinical advances in andrology and male reproduction.
Among the distinguished speakers was Dr. Gabriele Antonini, internationally renowned urologist and andrologist, invited as a lecturer to present the scratch technique for the treatment of Peyronie’s disease. This innovative minimally invasive procedure represents an important step forward in managing a complex condition that profoundly affects patients’ quality of life.
During his presentation, Dr. Antonini discussed the clinical outcomes achieved with the scratch technique, demonstrating how this method promotes remodeling of the fibrotic plaque within the tunica albuginea and effectively improves penile curvature. The procedure stands out as part of a broader update on modern andrology, where scientific rigor, technological innovation, and patient-centered care converge.
The course “Actualización en Andrología y Reproducción Masculina” also offered a valuable multidisciplinary platform for international experts to exchange knowledge, fostering global collaboration and the dissemination of best clinical practices.
Thanks to contributions from Dr. Antonini and other leading specialists, the Cartagena Congress once again proved to be a key reference point for education, research, and innovation in global urology.
