Hi everyone, I’m Giovanni, and today I want to share a very personal part of my life, hoping my experience can help anyone facing similar challenges. At 54, my life took an unexpected turn due to a severe car accident that left me with a fractured pelvis and many other issues. Among these, the most difficult to cope with has been penile atrophy and curvature.
Imagine a penis that curves almost 90 degrees at two points: at the base and near the glans. This made penetration impossible, severely compromising my sexual life and, consequently, my self-esteem. As a divorced man with two children, I was used to a satisfying sexual life, but after the accident, my relationships with women drastically suffered. My hope lies in a penile prosthesis, with the aim of recovering much of my size, both in length and circumference. The journey to this decision has been long, involving consultations with various specialists, until I met Dr. Antonio, a figure recommended to me by a friend.
The prosthesis proposed to me consists of three elements: two inflatable cylinders that will replace the corpora cavernosa, a small pump containing the fluid to inflate the cylinders, and a release valve to manage their inflation and deflation. My hope is to recover at least 80% of what I was like before. Despite the difficulties, including a missing testicle due to the accident, I am determined to take back control of my life. During the visit, Dr. Antonio explained how the pump and reservoir will be positioned, and how the prosthesis will define the length of the penis. Even though I once had 14 cm, and hoped for more, I’m aware that the important thing is to find a solution that allows me to return to as normal a life as possible.
This is my journey, a battle to recover not just physical function, but also my confidence and emotional well-being.
